"Wanderings" Music Video Series - Album Artwork Creation Time-Lapse
These videos were created to showcase the album artwork creation process for "Wanderings." Each video shows the digital painting process for the image tied to each song, with colorization added to intial pencil sketches, along with filtering effects to complete the look. Together, each song and accompanying image tells its part of a unified story across the course of the entire "Wanderings" album.
01. Warning
In "Warning," the Wanderer leaves their familiar home, drawn to an unknown location by an unknown entity. Despite the warnings of the people they know, they still choose to set out on this mysterious adventure. Whether this is recklessness or a hopefulness to be rewarded is still yet to be seen.
02. Alarm
In "Alarm," the Wanderer's internal perspective is showcased, along with their determination to move forward. Resisting both the warnings of those around them, as well as their own self-doubt, they have decided to set out on this potentially perilous journey. In their mind, this is the path toward their ultimate destiny.
03. Nocturne
In "Nocturne," the Wanderer is enraptured by a dream; the same dream they have encountered for numerous ongoing nights, which has inspired them to set out on their current journey. They imagine themselves in the destination they seek, with the entity that calls them there. Regardless of the difficulties ahead, they can at least rest in this moment.
04. Daybreak
In "Daybreak," the Wanderer awakens from their dream of the previous night. While they are invigorated by the rising sun, they still ask themselves if they have the energy for the day ahead. Still they press on.
05. Energized
In "Energized," the Wanderer reaches the peak of the highest mountain range on the journey. There they witness a raging lightning storm that brightens up the night sky. The Wanderer feels energetic determination of the same level flowing through them as well.
06. Resolved
In "Resolved," the Wanderer enters a vast desert, filled with ruins of long-past empires. Trudging through the scorching sands and shredding winds, they wonder if their own efforts will prove just as fruitless. While far from certain, the Wanderer strongly believes that their questions will one day be resolved.
07. Immersed
In "Immersed," the Wanderer reaches a raging sea with an island on the other side, which they attempt to cross using a pair of artificial wings. These fall apart mid-flight, causing the Wanderer to plummet into the waters below. As they sink, their doubts and misgivings rise to the surface as they are immersed in the sea.
08. Negation
In "Negation," the Wanderer reaches the island across the sea, only to find a group of terrifying spectral entities that guard the forest contained within. These manifestations chase the Wanderer and taunt them with memories of past failures and regrets. Lighting a fire, the Wanderer manages to drive these beings away, though this renewed confidence comes at a cost as the forest burns.
09. Garden
In "Garden," the Wanderer enters a clearing in the middle of the forest, which still burns from the fires set in "Negation." There they find the garden they had seen in their dreams, only it is a broken-down ruin of the visions they had, with no sign of the entity that led them there anywhere to be seen. The Wanderer's body broken from the journey, they lie down and drift off into the realms of sleep.
10. Somnolence Pt. 1
In "Somnolence Pt. 1," the Wanderer's mind drifts into a vast dimension beyond the world they knew. Whether this is a dream or reality, the Wanderer does not know. As the environment around them becomes more and more distorted, their consciousness is pulled into a mysterious void.
11. Somnolence Pt. 2 - Starflight
In "Somnolence Pt. 2 - Starflight," the Wanderer awakens from their dream to find the garden restored and the entity there with them at last. Enshrouded in a beam of light, they find themselves propelled into the heavens, mesmerized by the sights of the cosmos. Whether this is simply the end of this story, the start of another, or even really happening is a mystery that has yet to be told.
